You may have seen the TikTok trend of [insert topic] by horoscope. If you missed it, you're not too late to hop on it yourself, or simply sit back and enjoy everyone's take. Here's mine, Organizing Style by Horoscope (three parts, here's one). If you haven't already taken the quiz to find out if you're actually organized, it is a must for anyone wanting to get some recognition or glean the ever important pitfalls to avoid (and it's free, duh, so are the actionable steps by type).
For those that want to keep a safe distance from the ever evolving newish platform, here's the trend scoop (*I AM NOT an astrologist, but did take the time to research tendencies and relate to what I've seen in the field working one on one with clients):
Capricorn (12/22 - 1/19):
You are HYPER-ORGANIZED. That means I love you, but others might find it difficult to keep up with your expectations. You are a top performer, so don't forget to give yourself a break and be patient with others. It simply does not come easy to them.
Aquarius (1/20 - 2/18):
You can be organized, when you make the time. Top actionable step? Use labels to make maintaining your hard work a breeze AND map out on your calendar when you will organize. Best practice for you, dear Aquarius, take five minutes at the end or start of everyday to do a quick maintenance every single day.
Pisces (2/19 - 3/20):
Dearest Pisces, GIVE EVERYTHING YOU WANT TO KEEP A HOME. Yep, if it doesn't have a home, it does not belong in your space. Take the time to organize on a weekly basis, and when you are feeling too stressed or busy, hire out...watch the stress melt away. *Note, many Professional Organizers offer maintenance packages at a major discounted price (including Savvy Solutions!).
Aries (3/21 - 4/19):
Here's the deal, you can have loads and bursts of energy, put them to good use! Set aside a time to make one single goal, and crush it! Think: Get everything off the floor, clear all kitchen countertops, organize junk drawer. Also, make whatever system you put into place highly visible.
Taurus (4/20 - 5/20):
Taurus, you can be indulgent. So lean into it and by creating systems that are sustainable. Skip the Dollar Tree and opt for some bins to categorize that will inspire you. Need some ideas, here are my faves. If you are extrinsically motivated (like me), upgrading your bins to match can be a game changer. Reusing is great, but when you invest in bins that won't break, you won't need to buy new ones down the line.
Gemini (5/21 - 6/20):
The definition of beauty and function. Look for furniture items that are multifaceted, like a entryway bench that has storage for shoes, or extra seating in your work from home office that doubles as your file cabinet. Storage ottomans are my best friend.
Cancer (6/21 - 7/22):
You are naturally a nurturer and you protect others. Pt your instincts to good use and organize your emergency bag and important documents. This does not mean that you have to do it alone, get help from the team, this is QT (quality time) well spent. Team work makes the dream work.
Leo (7/23 - 8/22):
You are bold. Apply this to organizing and go wild and crazy. I want to see color-coded bookshelves, alphabetized spice racks, and a fun feature wall (add some hanging plants?!).
Virgo (8/23 - 9/22):
Virgo, I love you. You are naturally organized. In fact, for many folks, but especially you, the outside state impacts your inner sense of peace and stress level. This is a burden but can be an asset. So try spicing up he matching bins with some aesthetic labels, houseplants, and splashes of color (beyond "Agreeable Grey" and "Pigeon").
Libra (9/23 - 10/22):
You indulge in trends and are great at treating yourself. I'd love to see you indulge in matching slim hangers, this will create more space for your expansive closet, and make everything feel luxurious. Remember to let go of what no longer serves you (and in the case of the closet, what doesn't fit you). When you let go, you create space for the new.
Scorpio (10/23 - 11/21):
Confession, I AM A SCORPIO! Fellow Scorpios, you instinctively let things go with ease, but remember that is NOT the case for most. So be patient with others and find empathy for their attachment to their "stuff". At the end of the day, you are a teacher that can help others by example and gentle encouragement. Oh, and DON'T let go of items that do not belong to you.
Sagittarius (11/21 - 12/21):
You are ready for anything. Use this super power to make an organizing goal that you can easily crush. That momentum will propel you to keep organizing. Think bedroom redesign, no prob!
